After Windows Update, no "headphone" device

I have an ASI IQ17 laptop. After the Windows Update last night, my headphones no longer work independently from my speakers, and going to "playback devices" shows no "headphone" device. I'd reinstall the drivers... but I can't seem to find them via google search for some reason. Any ideas what I could do?

I have just tried on my laptop via the headphone outlet and it does work ok so it is not the update that has caused it, so it could be another issue on the settings of your laptop

I assure you that the day before the update, the headphone device was there, and the headphone jack turned off the speakers wehn plugged in. I go to bed, I wake up, I find that the update installed.... apparently a "Major" update, the "Millenial Update"? Because Cortana started giving me tutorials again, my task bar suddenly had Edge and the Windows store show up on it again when I'd removed those months ago... basically, everything was appearing as if windows had been reinstalled from scratch. And now my headphones don't turn off my speakers, which I remember was a problem when I first installed windows 10 as well, except that time, there was a "Headphones" device that I could select to be primary and that fixed it. This time, there is no "headphones" device to select.
