    Driver verify question

I've been having BSOD crashes for a few weeks now on my 10 year old HP desktop running Vista. I ran the BSOD app, reported and told that my problem was a driver and to run the Verify program and click Intel. I could not find Intel on the list so I checked everything that said Microsoft. My PC was running slow before and seems to be running even slower now. Is there anything more I can do? Could I have caused a problem by checking all the Microsoft boxes, or is it just time to replace my 10 year old PC?

You're asking for Vista support in Windows 10 forum? Unusual.

I'm not familiar with the Verifier. However, it appears to be a monitoring utility:

It's believable that leaving it on would slow the PC. Especially with a lot of random boxes checked.

I'm not sure what to suggest , after turning it off. First thing would be to image the existing Vista installation. Macrium Reflect Free is popular for that. (You have an external HD for backups already, right?) I'd try a repair install (also known as an upgrade-in-place) of Vista then.

    Good luck.

I'm running a system restore back to 9/17 (last update).
