    Hard drives and Motherboard Compatibility

I have an Asus Z170M-E D3 and a Hardware compatibility list that I downloaded from Asus.com. My 3TB WD EZRZ isn't on that list. Does that mean I can't or shouldn't use it?

Very possibly, have heard of issues with older or slightly older BIOSes not supporting 3TB and larger drives. You can only give it a try or maybe check with ASUS for a BIOS update.

You can always try it, but if it's not on your list, I wouldn't recommend it.

If it's not on the list, it means that Asus hasn't tested it with the board. That is pretty much meaningless for standard SATA drives; Asus doesn't test most of the drives on the market.

However, there are some WD60 drives on the compatibility list. These are 6GB drives. Your 3GB drive will work just fine.
