    Micro SD card recovery

    Hello,

Today I put my micro sd card inside a USB adapter, and plugged it to one of the USB ports.
Then I transferred some files into it, and I accidentally moved it in the middle of the work, so that it disconnected.

Now when I insert the micro SD card (inside the adapter) it tells me that I must format the drive because it has file system that's not recognized.

Is there anything I can do to fix it rather than formatting it?

    Thanks

Hi, you can try data recovery software e.g. Recuva. There are many such if you search.

Thanks guys, I used Recuva at first, but that couldn't recover most of the things, so I just formatted it :O

Do you edit and overwrite the original? If yes then the file hasn't been deleted and Recuva won't be able to find it .

If you did a quick format, the recovery software should be able to find everything now, except perhaps the files that were being written when you pulled it out.

If your SD card has lost its partition information then Recuva or other such software may be able to find and copy files from it. This is non-destructive as they copy the files, not try to restore them in situ.

The other way is to try and restore its partition information. MiniTools Partition wizard can handle SD cards and has a partition recovery wizard that may help. But this will modify the SD card itself, so use with caution.

Did you check with the service center guys? I remember that once my card got corrupted and I called them to ask what can be done and they told me that you will get the new memory card in re-placement as it was under warranty and they will also recover the data from that card but I didn't visit them because their office was way far from my house and importantly I didn't had any important data in the card.
