with all 4 disabled you have turned off USB 3 completely , set the top one to Auto instead , leave others alone

FYI With 1/2 initialisation , it turns on the mouse and KB USB only at boot but

did you try with fast boot disabled? I usually have it off (disabled) and CSM enabled all legacy except the top one which is legacy and UEFI

Well, i tried everything, nothing worked. I just did a clean reinstall of Windows 10. Everything works fine. Apparently its a pretty common bug with upgrading to Windows 10, as Windows 10 keeps the old drivers, including the USB drivers, which causes heavy interruption, leading to nothing working correctly. Thank you for your help!

I don't mean to necro this thread but I've had the same problem since buying this &$*% board. After this I'm done with Asus. So I have exactly the same problem the OP stated. Since buying this board I've done about 10 clean installs and it never fails for the HCI controller to boot improperly, even creating restore points doesn't help long term. They might work once or twice an install but then they too stop working. Has anyone found a workaround to this?

There are alot of problems with USB on the X99 Platform is is not ASUS only ...my 1st board was a Gigabyte for example but the 2nd version of many X99 boards are much more stable but the USB problems are due to the way the xHCI Controller deals with older USB devices , for example if I attach my old 23" NEC Monitor's USB hub the Computer wont Boot ...but is fine if I plug it in afterwards. NEC could not update the Firmware for it , so I am stuck with that issue but I was able to find a firmware update for my USB3 Media Storage (8TB) and also an older USB Hub which are now fine too.

you maybe better joining in over on OC.net ,( I did a year ago) they are helpful in the Asus Thread , and one User , Djgar, also has a Strix , and knows his stuff ( oc'ing his Strix , no issues) and is very helpful.

This is a great help! Thanks! I don't want to speak too soon but I noticed that Windows Automatic Driver Update had installed a generic USB 3.0 driver for my Asmedia USB Root Hub. I was able to find an updated driver on Asus's website and did a manual install and then turned off automatic driver installation. So far so good, finger's crossed. I have very little plugged into my USB ports on the reg - just keyboard/mouse/monitor hub. I am using my Acer X34's USB Hub but that's a pretty new monitor although I haven't researched what USB Chip it's using. I'm glad to hear it's not just an Asus issue because (other than their customer support) I do like their boards. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction - if I have any future issues I know where to go!

SOLVED: Had the issue where I could not boot past Asus BIOS splash screen into Windows 10 when USB devices were connected on an Asus PT-2001 AIO computer. With advice above, I was able to get it to boot with just the USB mouse connected, but not the keyboard or any storage devices. Work around was to connect USB devices after Windows started to boot. Anyway, problem solved properly with BIOS Update and EHCI Driver update. Mainly I think it was the EHCI Driver update that corrected the issue. BTW, I used Snappy Driver Installer (SDI) to automate Driver Updates.
