What's a working free DVD burning program for Windows 10?

Windows 10 doesn't let you burn a dvd disc (it doesn't have windows dvd maker and there's no way to do it). I've tried all the ones on here: http://www.techradar.com/us/news/sof...ftware-1141938

and none of them work, it's really annoying. What's also really annoying is the endless tutorials that tell you to just burn a dvd from the start menu, which takes five seconds and obviously doesn't work (it only works if you put the disc in THAT computer lol) So yea I've got to use a program, do you know one?

Starburn is a good general program.

    Search for

What kind of DVD's are you wanting to burn.....music, movies, pictures?

I like CDBurnerXP....it's free and it works with all versions of windows.

    Just to be clear:

Are you asking about a data DVD or a DVD movie disk?

I presume that Win 10 can burn a data DVD just like Win 7 could. Movie authoring is different.

    Win 10 disk burning capabilities:
How to Copy Files to a CD or DVD in Windows 10 - dummies
    - audio via WMPlayer
    - data via autoplay- but a number found autoplay for disks didn't work- not without a common registry fix.

This thread is fairly old, but I was in the same boat and I couldn't find a good dvd burning software for my audio needs, I thought might as well help here and save someone a little bit of time. I'm currently a novice DJ and I have to use CDs, as some of my turn tables exhibit better sound when the source is a CD player for it, I had to search a lot and most of the top google searches didn't get me anywhere just like your case, but however I found this tech blog Best Free DVD Burning Softwares for Windows 10 - Appuals.com they have pointed out some unique softwares and for me the BurnAware just did the job, I hope it will fix your problem as well if you're still looking for an answer.

Another vote for Ashampoo. If you click the 'downloads' tab on CountMikes link and then select 'Free Versions' from the product type dropdown you will get the latest versions available.

What I use now is the built in Windows 10 DVD burning Tool or alternatively CDBurnerXP, Ashampoo Burning Studio, InfraRecorder, ImgBurn.

They all do the basic job, ImgBurn is rather overly geeky. The built in Win 10 DVD/CD burning tool a bit harder to follow.
These have all been around for many years.
