I always do an image and I do own Reflect. But I agree that firmware will not be recovered with an Image. What was supposed to be fixed in the new firmware. Remember I am on EXM01B6Q and do not know what this new drive will be shipped with.

Mike, a system image won't help when doing a firmware update. The update goes to the SSDs controller, and not to Windows.
If the SSD gets messed up, you at least will have a backup of all the files on it...
    Thats all I ment.....

Ok, now I copy(pun not intended)
But the firmware updates go without a hitch, and about which version, if any, of Magician to use, it is up to the user, only once, waaaaaay back a few years ago, has Magician requested to be updated. Usually no matter how old a version you have, when you check through Magician, it say you have the most current version.

OK, I have 64 bit Windows 10 now installed on my 512GB 850 Pro in my wife's new system. I have not installed Magician yet but think I may as well install v5. Are there any settings I should now configure in Magician beyond the defaults? I mean does it still give options for performance or reliability, etc? Not sure what to use any more.

Just install 5.0 and run your Performance tests, there is no Optimize feature anymore, at least not on Windows 10 Pro. The reliability option is still there.

OK, I will do it. Samsung still has limited download! Had to get v5 elsewhere!
