I installed Samsung SSD 850 Evo 500 GB yesterday and use Samsung Migration to clone the HD that came with the laptop. I have the Q553U ASUS. Now battery only last an hour at most. Why is this? Any suggestions would be great.

    information   Information

Samsung has updated their SSD Support Site.
The old link( Samsung V-NAND SSD ) doesn't bring you directly to the downloads any more, but to the new SSD Support Homepage.

To go directly to the downloads for your particular consumer Samsung SSD, go to this link: Consumer SSD | Download | Samsung V-NAND SSD

Also for all SSD tools: Tool & Software | Download | Samsung V-NAND SSD

Wonder why, when opening Samsung Magician, it says "checking for updates" and finds nothing when clearly there is an update. Ironically it is also mentioned on Samsung's own website "* Notice : Latest version of Magician software is recommended for optimal performance." My Magician claims I have the latest version. Well, I most certainly do not have the latest version.

After a few revisions to Magician, one would think that Samsung would have got this right by now. Why bother making Magician check for updates if those updates are made invisible to the application? Or is it only me that has to read about updates here and then go off and manually download them?

@GregH, Nope, we all need to search:)
It seems the only time it searches for updates and actually finds the latest, is when you first install it. At least I have noticed this.
If you ever decide to do a clean install of Windows, and then install Magician, you should see what I mean.
