"Speed difference" of RAPID mode has also been discussed ad infinitum - no doubt it bumps the Magician benchmark and others significantly, but the practical significance of that in everyday use for users without a specific usage pattern is debatable,
RAPID can also interfere with the Calendar & Mail apps, and keep their tiles from updating/refreshing and or just show the default name. That has been my experience. After I turned of RAPID they worked normally again, and this is reproducible on both my desktop and my laptop.
