You're welcome Chris. That's the firmware for the 850 Pro's, the 840 pro's will have a different one, and, I'm not sure, but I think the EVO's have yet another... but they all (can)use Magician 4.7.

Yep, my recently updated 850 EVO has a firmware designation that differs slightly from Chris' 850 Pro, although same general format of the version number.

Somethings not right with my system , i am only getting sequential read speeds of around 200 MB but the write speeds are where they typically are , around the 500 MB range. Last time i tested the read speeds were around the same as the write speeds , can't figure it out.

Mine is on version 4.7 (can't seem to get AHCI mode working even though all the settings are set).

    Sequential Read = 333 upto 540
    Sequential Write = 397 upto 520
    Random Read = 9297 upto 94000
    Random Write = 15701 upto 88000

Well even with Samsung Magician claiming that I don't have ACHI enabled, I'm getting similar numbers so I won't complain.

What I am concerned about though is that after about a month, Magician claims that I've already written 1.09 terabytes.

A terabyte a month? Somehow that doesn't sound good.

Chris, you ran the winsat? It does the same as WEI(Windows Experience Index) in Windows 7. You will need to reboot so Windows can set you system up for SSD and if you have an additional internal HDD.
To see those scores you need to go to:
    C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore
and open the last file(it is XML so it opens in your default browser)
