My wd SSD didn't come with any optimization software. This is a dell xps 15. It came with the SSD. I didn't upgrade from an HDD.

If your Dell came with an SSD i would think it's already optimized .

Well no it wasn't optimized since I improved performance by using the magician.

No harm has been done. The magician simply made my WD SSD run faster.

I would be a little careful about messing with your set up. I suspect you have the WD Black dual drive which is essentially an SSD and hard drive that are connected through a single sata connection. I am willing to bet that the rapid has next to no impact on your performance since it is effective only at very high Q depths. On the other hand the optimize function can easily improve settings, particularly if you're original power/performance settings were out of whack for SSD's.

If you never adjusted the power settings on your computer for maximum performance than that would make a difference , if you say your system works better thats good .

Sounds like "Trim" is enabled as well . What do the performance #'s show , did you run a before and after test?

Don't use rapid for now and don't use the tweak area either until the next version of magician is released.

Lots of people have used 4.7 Magician without issues with Win 10 , "Rapid" functionality is not necessary for Magician to work so if you have used it already no worries .

It won't harm anything , i would update Magician when Samsung releases their update though.

I ran benchmark test before and after and gained like 30 MB/s.

As for my power options, those were on high performance already.

I also noticed my boot time is now less after optimizing.

I tried clicking on the greyed out "enable" button and nothing happens. It's Oct 15 and still no new Magician released.

As most know , Samsung has stated all over the web that a Win 10 update was coming mid to late September for their Magician software which includes a working "Rapid" mode .

Seems it's going to be a bit longer now .

Hi Chris, as you may be aware, we have been working hard to rectify the Windows 10 compatibility issues. We require a little bit more time to complete the Data Migration software update causing delays to release to the week commencing the 12th of October at the latest.

We wish to ensure that the update is compatible with affected devices and all bugs are thoroughly fixed in order for you to enjoy your SSD with all the features you would expect of this product. We understand and apologize for the inconvenience caused and we are working very hard to get this resolved. The Samsung SSD Team

Wrong product as we are talking about Magician.

, Thats what i was talking about, Magician , the updated one which included a working "rapid" mode for Win 10 users .

Samsung said mid to late Sep at first and then said Oct 5th , then again Oct 12th at the latest , well just found out it's going to be at least another two weeks folks.
