I installed this update and for a while everything seemed okay. Then on Saturday after a power off I got this message on boot. No matter how I booted, restart or power off, I continued to receive. As per their suggestion I uninstalled, downloaded a fresh copy and re-installed. Controlled Access not being used.

Everything looked good, couple of different test boots, all clear. (No fail to initialize application message.)

Today I rebooted after updating Intel Display drivers and message back. Looked in reliability history, nothing recorded. Did notice a couple of Samsung failures since March 31, 2022

Rebooted and no message from Samsung Magician.

Have a hunch there is something deeper going on, likely with Magician.

Interesting Ken, as mine has not given me any issues. Works just fine.

Mine works, just fails to start on every boot and this only started after the update.

There for sure would be differences in started software between our systems and I'm on 10 while I'm pretty sure you are on 11.

Yes I've been on 11 since it was 1st released. on Both my pc's

Yeah, I'm getting this "magician has encountered an error and cannot continue" error after boot up for a week or so now. Reverted from 6.3 back to 6.2 and it's gone. I'm still on W10 21H2 on this particular system.

When I finally got my Magician 7.1 to run correctly today, it offered a new version: 7.1.1 which I let it download and install.



Seems to be working....

Tnx Cliff, there was one just couple of weeks ago and now it shows there is a firmware update for my 960Evo.
