Thanks Cliff. I could not download from site as I got msg saying server limitation. But from Cliff's onedrive downloaded and installed.
But I have one major problem. I have allotted over provisioning. But that is at the end of SSD. But my C: drive space got reduced by 7GB. from 88 to 81. I have not done any update or done any thing else.
    What can be the reason?

Well, I did d/l the new Magician and Samsung seems OK today. Anyway, I also got the exm04b6q firmware ISO for my 512 GB 850 Pro. Can I just burn it to my CD ...yes I know I need to use an ISO program...? I ask as they keep saying I need a USB bootable drive. I like using my CDRW media as I just erase it after. They also mention moving the SSD to a secondary port? Any reason to do that? I would assume that the bootable iso would be less likely to fail since it is not running Windows and all of the overhead that involves. Am I on the right track here? I suppose I can try to create the Bootable CD and see what it says is my s/n.

    He did.

    1. Look at your last partition on the disk, you either need to delete it, or move it, as ther is not enough space for Magician's OP tool.
    2. Or you can just create an unallocated partition(which is all a an OP really is) out of a piece of your C: partition by shrinking it.

Right-click iso file, select Mount. Then run install file.
No need to create USB or CD.

OK, but the CDRW would then run Linux and not Windows so I would think it would be a cleaner and safer way to update my 850 pro that is still on the original f/w exm01b6q.

OK, I updated to 5.1 and all seems OK. I did turn off Rapid Mode before I did the update and then in 5.1 I turned it on again. All seems good so far. I may run it a bit before I do a firmware update. I wonder if 5.1 will show that exm04 is the latest or if will say exm03 is the latest.

This is a Windows 10 forum, what does Linux have to do with anything?

ONLY that the Samsung SSD Firmware update ISO option is built on a bootable Linux platform and I had wondered if that may be a safer way to go to update the SSD firmware, instead of using Magician, as it would not have any of the Windows "stuff" running like AntiVirus stuff to interfere. That is all.

What the issue with using Magician to update the firmware???

I certainly used it to update my SSD drives without issue. I mean the software is designed to do so.

OK...I just thought that the ISO may be more reliable. I guess I can try Magician 5.1. Will it now give me exm04 and not exm03?
