Hi,
Up to you to update it. Does it say what has been fixed with the updates ?
Generally it solves some problem(s) but if yours run fine then better leave it alone, no ?

Hi,
@Sygnus: yes, please do so because I forgot the 950 is a M2 drive. M2 drive were not supported by Rapid Mode so far which makes sense for a NVMe drive come to think of it.
Sorry if I gave you false hope somehow.
Cheers,
Well, I am not sure what the updates resolve. I just wonder if there is a "race" condition when I power on where my MoBo does not see a bootable device...the SSD... a few times a month and wondered if the new F/W would fix it. Other that that, I have no issues. But my F/W IS 4 levels downlevel.
Hi,
Ok, it could be related. It does not hurt to be current f/w wise.
Cheers,
Hi,
@sygnus21
I don't think it will. It does not makes sense as it'll likely hit IO limits and cause extra heating.
That may change in the future with dmi 3 but that's another story.
Heat is an issue with most of those drives already causing thermal throttling which kills performance.
I am always startled when I make a backup up of my system drive using MR Free. Finishes in under a minute and I know it's still held back by the bottle necks of the mobo. These things are truly awesome.
Cheers,
