Sorry, did you mean me? I have 840 Pros and I have version 4.7 on both machines. See my post here. If you meant another Cliff, oooops then.
No, no. You're the Cliff I meant.

    Thank you.

I just bought a 850 EVO. Planning to mess with it over the weekend, and taken in aggregate across this thread your posts seem like the most reasonable way forward . So just wanted to clarify.

Your recommendation is to use Magician 4.7, but to use Windows for performance optimization and forget about RAPID?

    Sounds good. Thank you.

For now yes, later if they make RAPID available to Win10, then I feel it's a user choice. The thing is now that I've been "forced!" to go without it,, I haven't noticed a difference in day to day use. Basically after I clean installed on my SSD, I ran winsat formal in an admin command prompt, let it finish, rebooted and let Windows take care of all the settings(prefetch & superfetch, indexing and other things). I now have Magician basically for "Firmware"updates only, not gimmics.

I recently upgraded my computer as per my profile, and it already screams along. I can't wait to see what it will do when Samsung gets the chit together and makes RAPID Win10 compatible.

I installed the 850 EVO relatively painlessly. I have pretty good read and write speeds, but I am concerned that it says I do not have ACHI enabled.

    What gives?

I just picked up a firmware update for my 850 EVO the other day via SM, posted about it in another thread. Could it be that you guys are being alerted to, rather than an SM update?
