Not 100% certain as there is always uncertainty and I am basing it on the Current Status, I don't have a event 258 in my event viewer. How did you get that to show up?
In event viewer, right click on "Custom Views" and select "Create custom view".
Select "by log" and tick "Windows logs" in the drop down.
Enter 258 for the event ID.

    Samsung Magician-capture.png

Click OK to save it. Give it a name (I called it 258) and then you'll see the new filter you defined under custom views.

If you don't have any 258 then it isn't running (unless you cleared your event logs I guess).

    Sorry to be off topic.

I made a custom view for all Optimize drives actions a while ago in February for @Mooly and posted it in his thread here: Calling SSD users. What does your 'Optimise' window show ? - Page 3 - Windows 10 Forums

Just download the zip, and follow the instructions in the post.
SSDs will show retrim in details friendly view:

    And defragmentation for HDDs:

    Hi,

If trim is enabled, you should check that by following the instructions in @Cliff S's link, then it will generate an Event ID 258 every time it runs automatically.

    Cheers,
LOL, I didn't even realize that was Cliff S who replied until you mentioned it and yes, trim is enabled already but I don't have a event ID 258. I mean on my system, chkdsk at boottime was not logging either until it decided to if you check my BSOD thread.

    Thanks lx07!

I do have a lot of event 258's, 208 since June 19, 2017 except none of them have the source as "Defrag", instead it shows up as:
Defrag (Microsoft-Systems-Defrag) and consists of 4 events:

7/13/2017 3:27:26 PM - The storage optimizer successfully completed retrim on OS (C:) - this was the one I ran manually after clicking on the Optimize link in Samsung Magician.
7/16/2017 12:36:41 AM - The storage optimizer successfully completed defragmentation on \\?\Volume{00249868-0000-0000-0000-80d2dc010000}\
7/16/2017 12:36:39 AM - The storage optimizer successfully completed defragmentation on OS (C:)
7/16/2017 12:36:39 AM - The storage optimizer successfully completed retrim on OS (C:)

So it did run once so far after I ran it manually once. As my log does go back 30 days, it didn't run once a week. I just went to the Optimize Drives link in Samsung Magician and it seems like my Scheduled optimization is turned off for some reason. I just noticed in Optimize Drives, I have a drive called volume that has never been optimized, I have never seen this drive before either, wonder what that one is.

As Windows Disk Management doesn't show it either:

And nothing happens when I click on Optimize while Analyze is greyed out.

Also, thanks Cliff S as always!

It's a system partition that really shouldn't be showing up.
I have had it before, and it went away after the next version upgrade.

One thing you could try and see if the upgrade cleanup has been run after the last version upgrade(disk cleanup)
It could be a left over from when your programs and files were moved around.

By the way if you want to see verbose trim, check out this tutorial: Optimize and Defrag Drives in Windows 10 Windows 10 Performance Maintenance Tutorials

    1. For example: Optimize-Volume -DriveLetter C -Verbose

Interesting Cliff as I know it did not exist on the 13th or the 16th before the monthly patches/updates were installed, how do I do the upgrade cleanup or check if it has been run?

Pretty awesome, what is even more awesome is how you did the Good Afternoon Greeting... I seem to have a pretty big trim as it is all the free space available which is 1.3TB.

Open disk cleanup as an admin
    Samsung Magician-image-001.png

And it will show Previous Windows Installations if and other things to do with upgrading and updating.
