Where did you see the option? A screenshot would help...

And as said, option that just opens the Windows context menu. Option disabled at home. I have Diskeeper that handles (it automatically disables the Windows option).

It actually works as all it does is Windows will trim drive when you run it, mines doesn't run automatically even though it's supposed to. You should also do the "winsat formal" to make sure the SSD is setup properly with Windows. I mean Samsung Magician even specifically states "Standard mode uses TRIM to improve performance." as seen below in the screenshot.

The TRIM is managed automatically since the W7 version

If optimization damaged the SSD ... a long time ago, at least three years I would have seen it

    I'm in fast mode. Under W7, W8.1 and W10

What is the problem under W10 of "defragmentation"??? Optimization for SSDs

TRIM does not damage SSD's since it's for SSD's only. My TRIM never runs for some reason even though it's supposed to run weekly. As stated previously in the thread, I do have bad sectors on the SSD after 1.5 years but it's less than 1MB so hopefully it's not a issue.

I run the Samsung 850Pro 2TB on Windows 10 Home Edition x64 Creators Edition and the weekly scheduled optimization never runs automatically, I have to run it manually.

I prefer to run mine manually and disable the scheduler. I usually one it once a week.
