    Hi,
    @sygnus21
I don't think it will. It does not makes sense as it'll likely hit IO limits and cause extra heating.
That may change in the future with dmi 3 but that's another story.
Heat is an issue with most of those drives already causing thermal throttling which kills performance.
    Agree.

And I'm well aware of the heat issue these things have. One of the selling point in my moving to a Z270 Gigabyte MB was because on my Z170 gigabyte MB, my NVMe sat under the GPU, where on my new Z270 board the NVMe drive sits below it. I posted about that here when I moved to the Z270 board.

Anyway I just tried to download 5.1 and got the dreaded "Download Limit Exceeded" notification from Samsung's site. I'll just try later.

    Thanks.

    Installed. All is good.

@fdegrove: No, Rapid Mode still isn't supported on NVMe.

    OP?? Working or not?

    Hi all,

    I have a 950 Pro, 512GB with 120GB free space.

Just installed the new Magician - downloaded from Samsung site.

Deleted old Magician, rebooted, installed new Magician, rebooted.

Clicked on OP and it gave me the option to set OP - but when I try to use either the default or set a custom percent - I can't get either to work. The "0" won't change and if I click custom the setting is still greyed out. Default shows "0" and custom is stuck on "0". What's it looking like for you all?

Have you read the PDF link I have in the first post?
*you all should really read it:)

Look at your last partition on the disk, you either need to delete it, or move it, as ther is not enough space for Magician's OP tool.

Or you can just create an unallocated partition(which is all a an OP really is) out of a piece of your C: partition by shrinking it.

Did they integrate that previously announced "Magic Vault" for data protection?

    OP?? Working or not?

Cliff, thanks for the reply. Actually, I did read thru the .pdf guide before installing. Being technically challenged, I understood about 50%. The part you highlighted above is in the 50% I didn't get. :) I've had Samsung SSDs since the 830 (I think it was) and with Magician back then, it just worked. It OP'd automatically or I could set a custom range. I don't understand exactly what the issue is at the moment but I gather it can be fixed.

Could you describe what I need to do to have OP working on my machine - or point me to what should be looking to do?

    Thank you, Kent
