I have 850 EVO 250GB SSD. It is having version 5.0 only. It shows it has latest version. In the link provided also there is no firmwaresoftware. Am I missing something?
I installed 5.1 on my desktop with the 512GB 950 PRO and on my laptop with the 512GB 850 PRO. The 850 PRO works as advertised with rapid mode and over provisioning. The 950 PRO does not have rapid mode which it never had and probably does not need, it does have over provisioning.
I had asked this before with NO answer.
I have a 512 GB 850 PRO. I use Magician Version 4.9.7 and it says I am on firmware EXM01B6Q. I use 64 bit Win 10 Pro and wonder if I should now update to this new Magician and whatever F/W it now thinks I should have.
So...If I should do this should I ...
1. Update Magician first? If so, will it update from 4.9.7 to 5 and keep settings?
2. THEN update F/W?
3. Will Windows then think I need to reactivate, or will it know the F/W is the only thing that changed?
Thank You ALL and Cliff for the link.: OH, is F/W EXM04B6Q the latest Firmware? Should we start a GoFundMe page to help Samsung get servers to support our downloads? Actually the reason they release this in groups is they want to be sure people do not find bugs and that is why they wait a few days before everyone can download it.

Regarding #2, what do you mean If Needed? Also, my concern is that if there is an issue with updating the firmware can't it BRICK my SSD and then what can I do?!!! Should I let Magician update my F/W or should I d/l the firmware from Samsung? I am interested in f/w as a few times a month my mobo goes into uefi bios and I hit save and it says I did not make any changes (no kidding) and then I boot to windows OK for another several weeks. That is why I wonderred if I had a f/w issue with the original f/w.
Hi,
If there's a new FW for your drive that is.
Whether you download it straight from Samsung or through Magician makes no difference. I've never ever bricked anything but hey, no guarantees there.
Your bios/uefi and the FW of your drive are two separate items.
Cheers,
