    Mentioned problems were similar?
In my case on the machine below in my specs, it kept saying I was set to 3Gb/s when IRST say's 6Gb/s for example.
The problem could be that my system disk is an older M.2 PCIe NVMe Samsung SAMSUNG_MZVLV512B(PM951) SSD that isn't Magician supported, and is SCSI, so maybe it was a path problem. I could set up RAPID for my 850EVO but after a while Magician would turn it off and make that identification change from 6Gb/s 3.

On my laptop, it was just acting flakey, and on my Lenovo desktop, I just uninstalled it because I uninstalled it on the other two.
For now, I use CrystalDiskInfo for S.M.A.R.T and I can even read the temperature for each disk, plus it shows me the current firmware, and I can then either temporarily reinstall M5 to update it, or download it at Samsung and install it using a bootable USB stick.

Like I said, this is only until Samsung updates Magician so it works again.

Let's put aside recommendations with capacity and cleaning. The screen is old and I've already done that.
Besides that, do you have any ideas why drive is not recognized correctly ?
I have 4 Samsung drives installed on 2 different computers, my SM5 works perfectly on both machines, no problems.
You could try un-installing SM5 completely, then reinstall ....still think your drive is too close to being Maxed Out.
    Hope you get it solved.

I've already tried that. In Magician 4.9.7 everything works fine. The problem occurs in 5.0 version. No matter if I do upgrade from 4.9.7 or uninstall/clean install.

    Hi,

Why not stick with what works then ?

Hi Cliff. Thought I would post my 850 Pro for comparison and curiosity. I'm curious as to why your transfer mode is saying SATA/300|SATA/600.

Is it just me or anyone have similar problem? As you can see I have Samsung 840 Evo and SM5 says that drive is not supported :-(
    Attachment 124703
I just took a fresh, closer, look at your 1st post @borkokrz , the dive is supported, just, for some reason, on your disk, RAPID mode is not.

The Samsung specs page says for both of the 960's that AES-256 bit User Data Encryption is definitely supported - so I would go back and open that Samsung support ticket again:
    Access Denied

The question I'm having trouble answering, though, is how do you turn on encryption in any of the Samsung SSDs now that the options have been removed from Magician? Literally the key selling point for me has been the self-encrypting 256-bit AES features... if I can't turn that on, I guess I'll be forced to buy a different brand of SSD!
It's a few months later (I hardly ever come to forums anymore) BUT the drive WILL do drive (physical) encryption, but, you need to set up Bitlocker with an EMPTY drive: full format losing everything, and then the option and confirmation will appear in Bitlocker setup. Bitlocker will then work with the full encrypted drive and encrypt files on its own, too.

I have no link for you, but Google is your friend: "Bitlocker setup"...
