    Yup, it does Word Man, but yours does look like mine....at least the same version of Magician anyhow. :) I have no intention of using the OP on mine. Not needed. Only using about 30% of my ssd. Won't get much bigger in the future. So I have no need for OP. :)

    Under my Magician it says enable disk defragmenter , i see the examples of the other Magician does not have that message so i assume you are leaving your disk defragmenter on.

    Their is NO disk defrag in my Magician.......TRIM yes.....defrag...nooo. :)
    Word Man is correct....Windows takes care of Trim on my ssd.

    37% of C (Win-RTM) and 11% of D (Win-Insider) here, Mike. I agree that it's likely irrelevant in our cases - I just did it "because".

    Whether it is MLC or TLC has nothing to do with over-provisioning. Over-provisioning is important if your device is getting full. TRIM and the occasional optimize drive should take care of it otherwise.

    When writing to an SSD block, the block needs to be erased first (if it hasn't already been erased). To write to a block that has data in it, the data must be copied off of the block, written elsewhere or merged with the data intended to be written to the block, the block needs to be erased, then the data can be written to it.

    SSD need free space so it can maintain a pool of pre-erased blocks so that they can be used to complete writes without having to do an erase cycle. When your SSD is idle. garbage collection moves data in blocks around in order to maintain this pool of unused blocks that are ready to write to. Without such a pool, on a full disk, data would have to be moved around and the needed blocks erased as you are writing , which kills write performance. As long as there is space available, whether unused or over-provisioned, and idle time, the pool of blocks that are ready for writing to can be maintained.

    These SSD have multiple processor cores on them (the Samsung has 3), that do all of this work. Some SSD also are over-provisioned at the factory (additional space not accessible to the user).

    Meanwhile, I have a question with regards to the 'Advanced' settings under OS Optimization

    The button "Apply All" is confusing to me.
    It seems to me that it will then DEactivate some features, such as Hibernation Mode, Prefetch and Write Cache Buffer, etc.
    whereas there is no word about what is recommended.

    So, is the current status (see screenshot) okay and will "Apply All" deactivates the recommended settings..?

    Helpfile does say what is recommended.

    Hibernation Mode

    Hibernation Mode enables quick restart and system standby times (particularly important for Laptop PCs) by saving the current system status to the hyberfil.sys file when the PC power is turned off.

    Virtual Memory

    It is possible to reduce or even eliminate the use of virtual memory in systems with 4GB of memory or more. Additionally, expanding physical memory will improve the performance and reliability for the entire system. Some applications may require the use of virtual memory, however, so carefully consider your specific application requirements before disabling this feature.

    Indexing Service/Search

    Windows automatically indexes the content of data files in order to perform very fast Keyword searches

    Prefetch/Superfetch

    Windows stores common device drivers and applications in main memory in order to improve performance. Since SSDs have very fast access times, this feature is no longer necessary.

    In addition to taking up extra storage space, this feature requires frequent read/write operations that are not recommended for SSDs.

    Write-Cache Buffer

    Applications or data storage devices (SSD/HDD) send a command to the Windows OS to temporarily place data in Cache Memory rather than directly writing it to storage. In order to maximize both system and SSD performance, this feature is recommended. When using this feature, there are considerable improvements in Random Read/Write performance. The use of this feature does not affect the life or capacity of the SSD.

    Write-Cache Buffer Flushing

    While using the Windows Write-Cache Buffer feature, any data stored in the Cache Memory is lost or damaged in the event of a device failure or loss of power. The Windows Write-Cache Buffer Flushing feature should be enabled to ensure data integrity. In particular, this feature is important if your SSD is being used in a server application. When using an SSD and HDD together, it is always recommended to have this feature ON.

    Power Setting Options

    Select either power-saving mode or maximum performance mode, depending on your individual preferences. Laptop PC users typically choose power-saving mode, while Desktop PC users typically choose high-performance mode.

    ♦ System Restore Option

    Windows default Drive backup and recovery functionality is used to backup the system, making it possible to restore the system to its original state if problems arise. Please ensure that the backup drive is larger than or equal to the system's main drive. In general, it is recommended to use a separate internal or external HDD for backups.

    · Click Apply button to apply all settings for a particular profile. If you would like to manually manage operating system settings, click Advanced tab.

    Samsung Pro uses VNand3D. The Vnand3d is no longer the TLC

    Samsung simply indicates that the V-enables NAND compared with the conventional NAND etched 1xnm (probably 19nm) to increase the longevity of the chips by a factor between 2 and 10x, while the entries in performance would be doubled.
