Ditto, that is how I updated my firmware. Right now Samsung Magician tells me I have the latest firmware installed.

The way I got my EVO F/W update was just by starting up SM one morning and there was a little grey notification icon next to Firmware Update. When I selected that tab, an option to update the F/W was presented, which I exercised.
OK, but I do not have the EVO.

From what I understand, Samsung released and then pulled that 02B6Q firmware update. I guess something is buggy in it..... they have yet to release it again. I also was advised of this update thru Magician but did not do it as I was waiting for version 4.8 of the Magician software first. Glad I did. Check the Samsung website, will show that the 01B6Q is the latest. Don't try and update to 02B6Q if you find it elsewhere on the web. Even Magician stopped showing that there was an update and reverted to saying that 01B6Q is the latest. Only early adopters will now have 02B6Q firmware. Expect another firmware soon to fix it I guess...

I guess I was an early adopter but I have not had any problem with this firmware that was installed by Samsung Magician 4.5 when I was still using Windows 8 or 8.1 Pro. Any details on why the 02B6Q firmware was pulled?

Supposedly the 02B6Q firmware update was designed to increase the SSD performance when connected to a SATA 2 port however it hurt the performance on some SSD when on a SATA 3 port so it was pulled.

So there was some question as to whether Rapid Mode made a quantifiable difference in day to day usage.

I will say that my machine does not "feel" any faster day to day since I've enabled Rapid. However, running a virus scan this morning gave me a bit of a fright.

A Quick Scan of my rig has never taken less than 6 mins, with a full scan taking more than 3 hours. This morning a Quick Scan was 57 seconds.

    Running a Full Scan now.

    This will be interesting.

Something else is affecting the run time of your virus scan-im using bitdefender and a scan run takes somewhere between 3-4 minutes

It depends what you have for software too.
On my desktop it takes for a quick scan with Defender 6 minutes because I also have two virtual machine folders that get scanned(one is Ubuntu the other Windows 10 build 10568) essentially it scans three operating systems, and over 300,000 items in that time. On my laptop(my emergency PC) it has (for me)minimal software installed and takes anywhere from 30 to 50 seconds. This is with RAPID activated.
