    MS Surface & Kindle Columns

Assuming a hardware/settings problem. Last night I was reading a book via Kindle and it was in 3 columns, easier for me to read and full use of screen. I touched something and it went down to one small column. with my memory, this is a problem because it happened before, I fixed it back to three columns, but now cant remember what the heck I did. There is what looks like a 3 x column window box but it does nothing. I have a very good MS Surface tablet and detachable keyboard. Then spent a goodly half hour trying to fix it. Left it for this morning and put it back on, still only one column in middle of screen. I bet its something totally easy ..................

I think it can be all about software problems and bugs, or combined with hardware, which is way worse and not sure how to fix it. I've heard such stories from people who were reading simple ebooks in PDF format which they have downloaded from a trusted source and there was not such problems in the previous year of use, and then it happened, all of a sudden.

There is a small 'panel' on the reading screen which does nothing when touched, but there are also two others which, when touched, change it to one column (page) or two. So I plugged in a mouse and worked my way around some ideas, came back to these 'panels' and clicked the third one and the screen changed back to 3 pages. Strange because it wont do it via touch screen. I tried both table mode and notebook mode, neither worked. Thanks for your input.
