The driver on Gigabyte's website is quite outdated w.r.t. the one from the MUC. But the infoboxes of the Realtek drivers on MUC don't show my hardware-id's. How can I verify this further? Should I look into the files, and where should I look if so?

There is no way your HW ID is not shown in the drivers in MUC. The search was for your HWID. Download the most recent one (by sorting the .Last Updated' column) and download one of the large files (> 130 MB), which is an HDA driver, as the small ones are UAD drivers for very new chips (and I don't know how new yours is).

Once you download it, extract in a folder and go to that folder and in the search box of the Windows explorer paste your HWID (HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182). Explorer will show you the .inf that contains your HWID.

Thanks a lot for your trouble. This driver is from March.
Although the latest 6.0.1.8555 driver in de OP does not show my hardware-id in the Package details on the MUC, when I download the driver I can see a file (HDXRtGi.inf) containing my hardware-id
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182

Does this mean it is safe to install this latest version?

    Yes it definitely is.
My opinion though is to stick to the one suggested in the MUC. After all unless you have a major audio problem to solve with a newer driver, don't expect big changes in sound with the newer ones.

Thanks for verifying. The one Gigabyte is offering is newer than the one you suggested so I might as well stick to that one then.

Yep...but this is just my opinion. You can try them both and keep the one you like the most.
For my ALC0282, hp suggests 6.0.1.7944, but I'm currently on 6.0.1.8475. Especially hp, they don't bother any more and rely on Microsoft.

    hello guys,
after updating windows 10 to 1809 i get no sound on specific codecs (sound recorded with my phone)
this happens only when using 'High Definition Audio Device driver' device (my headphones) and not with my screen's speakers (nvidia audio drivers)
i installed my motherboard's audio driver and everything was all right then but my microphone didn't work after (and some more process were in the background and this is annoying me) so i came back to HDA
i saw that my windows version is 17763.134 and that my audio driver's version is 10.0.17763.1
do you guys know if i can update my audio driver's version to higher or if there is a new version at least?
or maybe i have it wrong and windows' "High Definition Audio Device" driver has nothing to do with Realtek's "High Definition Audio"
    thanks for reading

6.0.1.8573 (Generic) HD Audio is available for download.
Search for it on Station-Drivers, Necacom, or LaptopVideo2Go
