I just checked and it's on Station Drivers forum.
It apparent from the Forum which is the Nahimic Driver to use but what about RT with Crystal sound , just the generic RT Drivers?

My Asus MB has RT with Crystal Sound and my MSI Laptop has Nahimic just to clarify , since I have issues on the Laptop and found the post with the 8522 Drivers over there...

I don't know, I'm waiting for the generic version to be posted

got this issue, when there is alot of hdd usage issues, the audio glitches out.
moving files from main drive to back up drive and watching youtube videos, and office decided to update in the background.
audio started buzzing and glitching out.

    edit:
correction. meant to say usage not issues.

That's not because of sound (chip or drivers) but only a result of whole system having hiccups. Sound drivers etc. is not going to fix that.

new generic HDA driver package from MUC - 6.0.1.8522 x64 (139.7Mb) for Win10 x64 only
MS Update Catalog search link for 8522 (currently shows HDA & UAD driver downloads)

also 6.0.1.8496 HDA driver from MUC for 32bit/x86 Win10 only [generic HDA with Nahimic 1.x/2.x integration] (87.0Mb) - MS did post this one in August; no 64bit equivalent of this was available from MUC

I had to update after UAD, every sound coming from internet sounded like Donald Duck.

ahh (doh! - homer simpson impression), I forgot to tell you to uninstall the Realtek audio drivers first, reboot and then try to re-install the Realtek drivers using the hdxrt.inf file in Device Manager. my bad.

perhaps this is why I always remove/uninstall existing Realtek audio drivers before installing new ones. Otherwise, when installing new drivers repeatedly over old ones in Device Manager, one can end up with old & redundant Realtek HDA drivers that take up a lot of disk space in the Windows driverstore folder - take an example from this guy (he had lots of nVidia drivers & Realtek drivers installed and had to remove the old & redundant ones using DriverStore Explorer)

so my trick does work but requires uninstalling the Realtek HDA drivers first (either thru Programs & Features if the Realtek HD Audio software is listed there OR by selecting it in Device Manager, choose Uninstall but also check the option Delete the driver software for this device), then after restarting the computer re-install them in Device Manager by choosing the HDXRT.INF file.

It looks like I will still use the traditional Realtek HDA drivers on my friend's ASUS motherboard for a few more months. By the time the Win10 v1809 (RS5) release comes out, I will permanently remove those drivers and switch to the newer & smaller Realtek UAD drivers which will allow using the Realtek audio console UWP app from the Microsoft store

I did it that way, clean installed, but on my system i always end up with the ICESound files & entries. I just installed the new 6.0.1.8522 from MUC and i could confirm that. Uninstalled via Device Manager with the option "Delete the driver software for this device" and pointing it afterwards to HDXRT.INF file but no luck for me. I need to always delete the entries from the registry and delete the files from the System32 folder.

Btw, are you saying that with RS5 we will be able to use the UWP app even on older hardware?
