I changed the default. However, reverting to Microsoft drivers is not the issue. I would like the Realtek ones to work properly because the Microsoft drivers do not sound as good.
Oh I agree , I thought you weren't getting any sound at all and the MS HD Audio is better than nothing.....surprisingly this weekend it seems help is dead here ...

    Give this a try...

    Run troubleshooter

    • For help fixing audio or sound problems, try the audio troubleshooter. It might be able to fix audio problems automatically.
    • To run the troubleshooter, select the Start button, type Troubleshoot, and then select Troubleshoot from the list of results. Select Playing Audio > Run the troubleshooter.
For me the troubleshooter won't run as the Audio Service gives an error if I am using the Realtek/Nahimic Drivers from MSI.

Thank you. I installed Realtek High Definition Audio 6.0.1.8509 . It is only a pity that there is no sound equalizer and also sound settings. :)

I have the same ALC255 on my Acer V3 and have the HD Audio Manager and Dolby Audio using .8519 drivers that I found on google.

Perhaps you have a different audio chipset and it supports the equalizer, but it does not work for me. Some time ago I installed the drivers version 6.0.1.8004 or 6.1.0.8166 there is a sound equalizer but no TrueHarmony.

Acer V3 supports only Dolby Home Theater.

I literally spent the entire weekend trying to fix my issue and nothing worked. Reinstalling drivers, messing with windows files, plugging and unplugging cables. Nothing!

But I got back from work today and sounds were working again ??!!!?!!?!! The issue resolved itself as mysteriously as it appeared.

I live alone so no chances of anyone touching my PC in my absence. Do I have some sort of tech elves in my house fixing broken tech!?

    Totally dumbfounded by this.
