6.0.1.8603 HD Audio (FF00 = Generic) has been released.

Search for it on Necacom, Station-Drivers, etc.

Thanks for the heads up asturias7 I installed these this morning and up to now I'm finding them much the same as build 8597 but perhaps a bit more laid back sounding. I'll keep them on until the next release.

Yes, to me the sound is not as up front as build 8597. It's a bit more relaxed and softer, more analogue sounding although the detail is still there.

Same here on my system. Sounds a bit more "relaxed", if that makes any sense.

version 6.0.1.8603 FF01/FF03/FF04/FF06/FF10 HDA nonUAD drivers posted here (12/28):
    https://github.com/alanfox2000/realtek-hda-release/releases

since I had been using v6.0.1.8573 HDA for several weeks, I have recently updated to v6.0.1.8603 on many of the computers I'm using. (8603 may show up on MUC after new year's day 2019)

also check out my recent post on the Station Drivers forum - I have stumbled onto something when installing v6.0.1.8603 FF04 driver on my HP computer (but may happen with older & newer FFxx drivers installed on HP/Compaq brand laptops/desktops/tablets).

Having an issue updating my Realtek driver. Current version is R2.82. I have downloaded and extracted the latest CAB file from the Update catalogue but when I manually try to update the driver through Device Manager, I get ‘Windows has determined you already have the latest driver’ message.

I even uninstalled the driver and it defaulted to a 2012 version. Tried again and had the same issue.

    Any other method to update?

You need to unpack the cab file with something like 7Zip and then direct device manager to install from the extracted folder.
