I would recommend (for people that want to use the last drivers from a safe location) that they use alanfox2000's github. Not gonna post the link as I am unsure it's allowed, but one should be easily able to Google it. Chances are you'll find the last drivers there first, and they are properly structured per manufacturer, so it's quite possible that you'll find drivers tailored for your motherboard.

Consistency over a long period coupled with providing IDENTICAL driver packages for my motherboard months earlier compared to MSI. For example, downloading .8581 from MSI's website will give you the same exact files that were on alanfox2000's github many weeks earlier.

Question: How does one determine which of the HDA drivers to use. The current release file is 8591_FF0C_FF00_FF01_FF03_FF04_FF06_FF10_PG468_Win10_RS2_RS3_RS4_RS5_Win7_WHQL.rar and has subdirectories for each of the FF types. Can someone please explain them?
I see they are listed as e. g.
    Complete driver ....FF00
    FF01 with MAPO integration
    FF03 with Nahimic integration
    FF04 with APO integration
    FF06 with MaxxAudio integration
    FF10 with Creative integration
    FF0C with DTS integration
Is there some system to identify which can be utilized without analyzing a previously installed driver? Any assistance is appreciated. TIA

Using ASUS MAXIMUS XI HERO's UAD Realtek driver on an older board(MAXIMUS IX HERO) I have confirmed is working fine. Make sure it uses the exact same audio chip though(S1220). This is on Windows 1803(April Update).

I though UAD drivers were only supported on Windows 10 October Update but this seems not the case.

It may also work on other motherboards, so if anyone is willing to test this: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/m....8507_0925.zip

Just make sure it uses the S1220(maybe the S1220A without i2c will work too, but I am not sure about this) audio codec, otherwise installation will likely fail.

    Merry Christmas.

Hmm, I can't explain it, but sometimes installing and uninstalling and fiddling about restores loudness that one expects.. not sure if it's because today I started experimenting with installing the setup.exe with "Run in Compatibility Mode" and selecting my OS from there.

For too-quiet Netflix stuff in the browser to make it louder, you need to check on loudness equalization in the realtek or sound properties control panel. Only for Netflix. Turn it off for other stuff.
