Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

If they get one of the drivers that have the extra stuff with it, it shouldnt install the extra parts unless they modify the inf files for creative right? Maybe the nahimic stuff will, duno if its locked by inf. The creative stuff definitely though shouldnt install unless you mod the inf file.
Correct. If your hardware doesn't support the extras such as nahimic then it won't install.

On the MUC list you posted just left click on each individual driver in the left hand column and it will give you details.
I did so, but the necessary information there is not specified
-
Seems the next update will be 6.0.1.8323...
waiting for it to be released on MUC.

I want my audio to behave like this:

Instead of this:

If this is possible on my Windows 10 laptop.
The reason being that when I record desktop audio, it behaves like the latter which makes the volume of the recording dependent on my speaker volume.
My last PC had Realtek HD audio drivers and recorded fine, but it is from 2011 and uses Windows 7. The latest dell drivers for that are these here: Realtek ALC665 Audio Driver Driver Details | Dell US
- Realtek ALC665 Audio Driver
- Version 6.0.1.6312, A04
- Release date 12 Dec 2013
I am speculating that if I change the audio codec it might change this behavior but I really don't know (currently "Audio Codec: ALC898")

Hi and welcome.
"Audio Codec: ALC898" is an actual HW chip on MB and can't be changed. (CoDec = Coder - DeCoder, changes digital to Analog to digital sound).
-
Hm, that makes sense.
The screenshot showing the behavior I want is from the same computer after reverting to Microsoft's generic "High Definition Audio Device" drivers. It's just that it's not a good fix because it introduces other problems . So I believe the behavior I am looking at is driver based, hence posting here .

You might want to look at your Realtek HD Audio Manager in Control panel and see if you can untie input and output in there or maybe also in Control Panel > Sound and it's properties as they and their options define sound behavior and how controls are displayed and used. Might have to experiment with some other Realtek drivers, they (Realtek) keep on changing them all the time.

I have HP PC from 2008 and ALC888S and latest driver from MUC 6.0.1.8318 and it behaves like the way you want it on the first gif. Install that and see then.

I gave it a try, but it did not change the sound behavior and some Soundblaster software wouldn't recognize the sound card as a compatible device, so I reverted. I have tried with the Soudblaster software uninstalled also.
