    With 6.0.1.8541 even if i use the hdxrt.inf file instead of the hdxrt4.inf i still get IceSound files in System32 and service installed/registry entries.

    Any opinions on 8541?
    I've been listening to some music since yesterday and it seems as if I hear a subtle buzz in the background.

    Not noticed that asturias7, I find 8541 a good driver. However I'll try out 8544 later tonight

    My speakers just needed a good vacuuming, it's been a while...
    anyhow, will also give 8544 a go asap and tell you what I think.

    So, my 2 cents: Keeping 8544, everything sounds well-balanced...
    at least on my speakers and with my setup/configuration.
