If you can tell us what RLT chipset you have I can tell what Dolby etc it will support.
Most support Dolby, Sonic, DTS etc but RLT updates only support the basic codecs.
Licensing fees perhaps ? Dunno....

the RLT chipset info alone is not enough, fdegrove. also depends on the hardware ID as well - that's why I have to keep asking people what hardware ID they have on their realtek audio devices.

one RLT chipset with certain hardware ID(s) may have certain Dolby features while the same RLT chipset with a different hardware ID may not.

Ok, if you say so. To me a certain chip has basic capabilities just like any piece of electronic stuff. Anything else is then a matter of granted licenses or do I see this wrong ?

FYI, there's no Dolby support for ALC892. I'm using it.
