I think you'll like it asturias7. My machine needed a restart after installing to enable the Audio Manager in the system tray.

Dell audio sounds bad with Realtek I was forced to use Microsoft HD audio driver. On my new Cyberpower PC which has the newer control panel Realtek sounds better than the Microsoft HD driver yet if I uninstall the Realtek driver it does not try to push it unlike the Dell which pushes a old version from 2015 which sounds horrible. I then have to go through hell trying to keep it hidden.

You have to use the version from realtek website for a better quality 2.81.
If you upgrade the driver from Microsoft website it will break the sound quality.

Overall this is the pun of Dell users having realtek drivers.

Always keep a copy of the previous drivers that work well. If you install any newer driver and it doesn't perform as you want, you can then uninstall it and install the older driver that was perfect.

    Hi,

Windows will automatically keep a copy of the older drivers until you decide to delete them. See %windir%Lastgood or Lastgoodtemp folders.

Or use DriverExplorer to see what's left behind. You'd be surprised to see the amount of old drivers scattered around in Windows.

    Cheers,

I prefer to have a manual copy of the drivers as I keep for any Windows version. Automatic copy can be overwritten by a newer version and you lose it!

I agree with that post spapakons. I've got quite a large library of Realtek HD Drivers and NVIDIA Graphics Drivers but periodically remove some of the older ones.

If you do a clean install of any driver you can't roll back to the previous version as files are deleted from the driver cache.

    Hi,

    Dism /online /export-driver /destination:\Drivers

That will copy all non MS drivers to D:\Drivers and you can keep as many copies as you like by changing the destination directory.

Frankly though, I only keep drivers that are critical to the system I keep running.
Digital audio isn't that important to me, still on vinyl and spinner here, lol.

    Cheers,
