Are you using SPDIF optical out for Dolby 5.1?

I am on Asus P877-VLX which uses the same Realtek 887 as your Z97-K. This driver gives me Dolby Digital Live 5.1 option in Advanced Default Format albeit only with two speakers but more important I am still getting the audio mix problem of Win10 v1709, where the Left SPDIF optical stream is only getting the side/rear speakers and not front speaker. I just updated Win10 to the latest KB4090913 as well.

What do you mean with "optical"?
My sound comes from two Bose-speakers , so only stereo with Realtek on FX , with Dolby switched on ( never had this option before , with Dolby on/off !)

The optical output aka SPDIF is the squarish output for passing digital audio data directly to AVR without using the onboard sound chip, which I just realized is not present on your Z97-K board . The speaker output mix is probably not broken by the Fall Creators Update.

Is there a SPDIF connector, it does same thing as optical but with wires ?

Not sure I follow you. Are you referring to the problem with audio mix? My PC is connected to AVR with optical cable via the SPDIF port.
