Thanks! Initially there was only the Anniversary Update version, but now I'll switch to the Creators Update. I wonder what the difference is.

EDIT: Scratch that. Device Manager tells me "the best drivers are already installed" with no option to manually proceed with installation of the Creators Update version. Wish they'd let you decide for yourself which is best rather than making the decision for you.

    Hi,

Update: Now there are 3 download options. For Win 10 Anniversary, Win 10 Creators, and Win 10 and later.
So, Win 10 and later covers it all. Right ?

    So do I.
That said, I'll take a sabatical on al these updates for a while. No point if I can't hear any difference is there ?

    Cheers,

Instead what bothers me is MUC now launch one option per update version, then post other options one or more days later. I'm starting to learn to have patience when updating.

*Side note: I'm waiting for Realtek to come out with R2.82 (or whatever) on their website, with the hope that it is some sort of major update... either sound-wise or looks.

I struggled to get the Creators Update Realtek Drivers to work with foobar. Ended up totally uninstalling the Realtek drivers, rebooting and installing build 8004 using the .exe then updated to the Creators Update Realtek version, Started foobar and everything worked ok, is there a diffence in sound NO

Creators Update DTS / Dolby Digital Live Problem

We released build 16184, which has the prospective fix, to Insider Fast. I would be very grateful if anyone who is hitting this problem, and is willing to install Insider builds, could try it out and let us know:

    (a) whether the fix actually works on your system
    (b) whether there are any new problems

Don't know about others, but I do hear a slight improvement in sound with the latest (8125) update.

I have an hp laptop that has this driver:

If I check for a new one it states I have the latest driver available.
Can I download the latest realtek driver creator version from the microsoft catalog and install it? Should it work okay?

If you have Creators update, why not? Just download the .cab file from MUC, extract it to a new folder, then just choose that folder and update your Realtek audio. Btw, I am also using an HP laptop.

That's OK. I had hammer, chisel and tongs at the ready, so was prepared for it.
