It will also make a directory in C:\AdwCleaner where you can find scan results after each scan, just an ordinary .txt file.

Yeah I found that while wasting time looking for the executable. I'm actually still laughing at myself.

We need to let this thread get back on topic.

    Again, Thanks.

There's really too many to search by that in all .inf files. You can get it's HW id from device manager and search for it in likely .ini files opened in a text editor.

Or just try to manually install the new driver. If it is compatible with your hardware, after you browse to the folder where you extracted the files you should see at least one Realtek HD audio model on the list. If it is not compatible the list will be empty. Cannot be any simpler.

The best thing to do is just install the last driver Realtek posted on their website. So far everyone I've talked to says they have no problems with it: Realtek
Choose one of the two choices in blue to download (it's an .exe file), depending on whether you have 32 or 64-bit, then just follow the instructions once you run the file.

Did it come pre-installed on your PC? You could always uninstall it and replace it with the Realtek HD Audio driver. But, I'd start by downloading the "base" driver, shall we call it, from their website first: Realtek
