There's a new 6.0.1.8357 update, but it's listed as Huawei Device Co., Ltd:

Thanks for the heads up asturias7, think I'll give this one a miss though. I have much more success with the generic Realtek drivers :)

I still get the same report from DevMgr when I try to update the driver with the 8357 version -- namely, that I have the best driver already installed. I notice this newest one is also 82 MB and am reminded of the remark from the other forum I posted yesterday that a full update would be more like 134 MB in size. I'll keep waiting, and keep trying, new ones as they come along. But for now, looks like I'm stuck with version 8318 from December'17.

DO NOT USE THIS 8357 DRIVER! This is only an SST based Realtek driver!

Unless your hardware IDs are the following

    INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0298&SUBSYS_19E53E01
    INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0298&SUBSYS_19E53201
    INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0298&SUBSYS_19E53200
And only includes the HDXSSTHuawei.inf file and Intel SST drivers.

Brink, go back and change the driver version on your 1st post to either 8351 or 8356 (and/or wait for something newer than 8357)

You guys really need to inspect what INF files are included inside these packages and see what IDs they support. Use 7zip to open any CAB file package to check the files inside.

    Tricky business these Realteks !
Will stay at 8346 ( so far ) , imo, its not worth all the fuzz for updating to 8356 , I just dont get/hear much difference between these drivers...........

Found a version of 8351 with a setup.exe at Driver-Station that works on my Asrock Extreme7+ mobo. I was able to install it through DevMgr instantly. Find it here: Realtek High Definition Audio (HDA) R2.8x (8351) WHQL.
