Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version
-
what is the model number of your Dell laptop, ChristianM? run
Speccy or
HWINFO to gather the model # of the Dell laptop.
It looks like you will need to use the Dell specific Realtek audio drivers as the 8716.1 & 8720.1 versions do not provide any maxxaudio integration (unless you can specify the model & series of the Dell computer like Dell Inspiron, Dell XPS, Dell Latitude, etc.; for ex. Dell XPS 15 9560 uses Realtek HDA [nonUAD] drivers w/ Maxxaudio - latest realtek audio driver for the xps 9560 is 8622)
Thank you erpster4 for reply, I have Dell Inspiron 7547, below is the Dell driver page, Realtek AL3234, last driver Version: 6.0.1.7509 ,A00, OS windows 10 1903 Home 64bit.
PNP Device ID HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0255&SUBSYS_1028066D&REV_1000\4&3397DD7&0&0001
Dell link
Thank you

Does anyone have a copy of the 8648 UAD for the Prime X370 PRO, i tried newer versions, but they all seem to mess up with my mic volume making it way too quiet.

Hi, I gave up on UAD on same MB, very little adjustments and doesn't work well (just like you noticed) comparing to HDA and Realtek control panel.

In ROG Forums MoKiChU has stated this about the UAD drivers:
Intel : ROG/PRIME/TUF motherboards with
3xx serie chipsets
AMD : ROG/PRIME/TUF motherboards with
4xx serie chipsets
/!\
UAD Drivers are only for Windows 10 64 bit 1809/RS5/17763.x or more recent /!\
all others need HDA:
(HDA - ASUS ROG & ASUS PRIME-TUF) for
all ROG/PRIME/TUF motherboards.
/!\ HDA Drivers are only for Windows 7 64 bit or Windows 10 64 bit 1709/RS3/16299.x or more recent /!\
So the X370 PRO cannot use UAD drivers, also not all motherboards of the Z390/Z370 series cannot( some of the very high end like Formula boards cannot as they are actually for eXtreme overclocking and it is not a good idea to have the extra A-volute service running in the background when you're trying to get every last point on a benchmark).

Same here. I'm unable to download the Realtek Audio Control in Microsoft Store and after trying to use UAD, the enhancements is totally disappeared.

I agree with you there Cliff, sounds slightly better than 8716 to my ears. The big tight bass is still there but the top end sounds a bit cleaner. I'm pleased you mentioned this build as I'd previously tried 8731 and wasn't keen on the sound at all and had almost dismissed 8730 without hearing it until I read your post .

Thanks for the forewarning on 8731, I'll skip it, if it comes to ROG then

I manually upgraded to 8648 from 7544. The Dell version of the latest driver would not work when I upgraded to 1903. I had to uninstall it and let Win 10 find and reinstall it then my sound started working again. I had to manually upgrade it since Windows kept saying there were no updates available.
