    Hi,
DTS Ultra PC II doesn't work. Works on the version 8036 or older, on the following (8152,8184,8216,8219) do not notice any effect. Sound effects and EQ works, but DTS UltraPC 2 don't.
I do not know how on 8186, because the realtek hd audio manager don't start.
    mb Asus P9X79 Deluxe, win10 1703 (15063.483).

I've found many things controlled by Realtek HD Audio Manager can also be controlled in Control Panel > Sound > Playback tab > [your default audio output] > Properties.

    - I'll go with that option for the time being..
    - the "configure" option seems to be pretty effective..

    - cheers, larc919

Will the newer versions of the Realtek HD Audio Manager allow you to configure the front panel audio to AC97 vs HD? I have an older case that has only AC97 available for the front panel, and the HD/AC97 switch is in the motherboard BIOS setup. Currently running a really old version (2.71, 6.0.1.6873) which allows this to be set up in Audio Manager from the task bar or control panel. I tried installing the 2.82 version from the Realtek site, and I could not even get Audio Manager to start on my system, so I couldn't configure the front panel to AC97 (don't even know if that option was there in 2.82). MB is an Asus F1-A75-V-PRO and case is an Antec Sonata II. Have attached screen grabs of the current version, and the set up screen I am looking for in a newer version.Click image for larger version.

I have the same problem. I can see the exe files in Program Files/Realtek folder, but it won't start. The problem is that i don't have sound in this way, because i always had to change an option in the control panel... Maybe we could find the settings in the registry...

I confirm that the latest cab fixed the problem (just reinstalled it one more time) after that HD manager appeared in control panel, after that I could change "show icon in system tray" option. gl

You can also make a shortcut by dragging the icon "off" Control Panel and onto your desktop. Realtek HD Audio Manager has disappeared from my Control Panel, but it still opens when I click on the shortcut in my Start Menu.

I tried updating it with the newest cab file, but it just doesn't work for me... Did you install it through device manager?
