Yep, it looks like they're more interested in releasing the UAD ones...abandoning HDA little by little (who knows?)
It's all about money Dimitri, most of Realtek's money must come from the mobo manufacturers.

    I couldn't agree more Andy!
I remember, having a colleague who was in the intel Pentium design team and she was telling me that Microsoft had managed to turn the Pentium processor to 8088!!!! And that was 20 years ago...imagine today!!!

    Hi YoTips.

I think what's confusing you is that the 6.0.1.8210 driver Gigabyte listed for your Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 board is that the 8210 driver is the older (HDA, nonUAD) driver, while the 6.0.1.8586 or [8586] driver is a UAD driver, which has a different format. Ditto with the recently released [8703] driver which is also a UAD driver.

The classic Realtek HD Audio Manager app is only found in the traditional HDA drivers and not the UAD drivers.
Realtek UAD drivers use Realtek Audio Control or Realtek Audio Console UWP app, which is downloaded from the MS store.

I think I need to tell Gigabyte about the format change with the new Realtek audio drivers in their forums because the newer & smaller UAD drivers have a different structure than the older nonUAD drivers and can confuse some users.

If you really need the 8703 HDA (nonUAD) Realtek audio driver [not the UAD driver], get this one from Github.
Use 8703 FF10 because your Gigabyte gaming board has Creative integration. But first uninstall any existing Realtek audio drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller, then clean install the 8703 FF10 HDA driver which does come with the bundled Realtek HD Audio Manager app.

Another good reason why I don't install or update my Realtek audio drivers thru Device Manager and always use the Realtek setup program to install or remove their audio drivers.

if you want to have Realtek HD Audio Manager available on Win10 startup, use only FFxx HDA nonUAD drivers and avoid using UAD drivers
    Hello erpster4,

Thank you for the detailed response. It was very nice. Could you or someone explain to me what is the difference between the HDA (nonUAD) driver which is 274MB install that comes with the Realtek HD manager, and the new UAD driver for Windows v1903 and is only 17MB?

Also, I tried searching the Windows Store by clicking the shopping bag on my taskbar and when I go search either Realtek Audio Control or Realtek Audio Console UWP app the store cannot find anything in return. Can you help me find this app so I install the proper drivers and use the proper software/HD console with the drivers?

Yes, since it seems you know what you are talking about you should tell Gigabyte because it very confusing for me about what is going on.

Also, what did you mean that "If you really need the 8703 HDA (nonUAD) Realtek audio driver [not the UAD driver]" to get the one from Github.

Any difference or benefit in using HDA (nonUAD) Realtek audio driver vs the UAD driver? It's a bit more confusing for me between the two.

If you want me to use UAD drivers I can fresh install Windows 10 again instead of doing DDU uninstaller. I removed my graphics card by mistake and messed up everything. So I think I will start from scratch again. It installs really fast on USB and SSD drive.

The only problem I have before is like I mentioned I am not able to find
Realtek Audio Control or Realtek Audio Console UWP in the Windows App store unless I am looking wrong.

Can you share a video or some screenshots or something for me of what to do? Will this make the Reaktek audio show up in the taskbar or on Control Panel or is this a new layout feature for v1903 Windows. I was using v1803 before so I have no experience with v1809 and v1903 May update.

    Thank You.

I would always try the newest first, not guaranteed to be the best, but it should be,

Do you use Nahimic 3 with your old Asus?
