Could also be that some of us are audiophiles while others might listen to coloration sound.

The only thing wrong is why are us audiophiles listening to Realtek chipsets. It does beg a question

I am not an Audiophile and all I have is a plain two speaker and woofer setup and like Kbird says it is free, and I use AIMP and it works.

    Thanks DooGie.

    UPDATE on build 8339.

I've listened to these drivers for a couple of hours now using tracks I'm familiar with. My findings were that vocals sounded a bit rough around the edges and cymbals were almost none existent. I'm now back on build 8328 :)
    In my opinion too :)

It's part of the notebook and can't be changed internally. On desktops, I do get a audiophile grade sound card that has both analog and digital I/Os.

I don't either. My main PC motherboard has audio powered by Realtek with the addition of Soundblaster Cinema 3. The combination from optical out into a receiver/surround speaker system sounds quite good.
