Yes Mike they always say driver only on the Realtek Homepage but it contains the lot It's actually a good way of getting rid of problems if you are having trouble with a Realtek driver. Install the version from the homepage which wipes out all the prewvious .inf files then install the latest one from the MUC using Device Manager.

I'm afraid you won't be able to change to that swarfega, several of us on here have tried to find a way but we've all failed

The R2.82 package recently released is v6.0.1.8186 with a driver date of 6/14/2017. Guess it took Realtek a little more than a month to get the R2.82 package ready.

like I said before weeks ago: the Realtek HD Audio Manager Control Panel UI is hardcoded onto their drivers based on the hardware ID so you can't change the look, no matter what version of the drivers being installed (old or new).

A reminder: this is what the Realtek Control Panel looked like on my friend's ASUS M5A78L-M LE/USB3 motherboard using hardware ID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_10438576" and was installed thru the HDXRT4.INF file (cuz this specific INF file mentioned that specific ID) -

I might get the same thing if I deleted all the other INF files including HDXRT4.INF and just re-install the driver using just the HDXRT.INF file.

erpster this is simply absolutely untrue, I have a dell xps 8700 if I install realtek 2.66 or before i get the old(for me)realtek audio manager

if I install anything after 2.66 i get dell audio I have tried it on Win7, Win8, Win8.1 and all 3 versions of win 10.

maybe for your pc that isnt so but on mine there is a definite change with the software and interface with version 2.66

ive had the same motherboard since i bought this pc

I dont know why it happens but the interface definitely changes from this

All depends on what you have on your PC. I have an HP and no matter what update I install, the look of my Audio Manager always remains the same.

I like 8216 more than Realtek 2.82, so went back to it. Also 2.82 doesn't have the audio manager. 8216 does and happily installed over 2.82. I was holding off updating Realtek on my main PC since the motherboard came with Creative Sound Blaster Cinema 3 and I need support for that. The 134.3 MB 8216 downloads have it.
I liken the updates on the Realtek website to a hamburger. The Realtek website update is the hamburger (the base), and the MUC updates are the toppings.

Installing the latest update from Realtek will get rid of the Audio Manager from the Control Panel. But updating via Device Manager with one of the versions on MUC will make the Audio Manager reappear.
