Windows 10: Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

  1.    12 Jul 2017 #2671

    Hi,

Sure guitar amps are all about distortion, nasty distortion too. Yet the VOX was quite unique, a very special amp.

    Cheers,

    Hi,

They should work without having to reboot first. Just ignore the message.
I wished but the Realtek Audio Manager when you click on the i after opening it still shows 8199 when I have already updated to 8205 for example. And I am talking about updating by device manager which asks for a reboot that I ignore. Installing by .exe while it does uninstall and install after rebooting even though the Windows shipping driver is activated, it will use the new driver once installed without rebooting.

The latest default Microsoft HD audio drivers 10.0.15063.447 sound better than the realtek drivers and they are not updated every few days.

That's nice but I guess you don't need the extra features then?

Yes because the Realtek Audio Manager has not refreshed when installing through Device Manager. If you check the driver version in Device Manager after installing it will show the correct version.

That's true but I am running Process Hacker and I always kill and restart the Realtek Audio Manager process which would load the current installed Realtek Audio Manager so it would have picked up the new driver. The only driver that updates without having to reboot or even prompts for one is nVidia video drivers.

I've seen it is out but I'll wait until it's available from the MUC before I try it.

If you think there are a lot of updates you should have been here a couple of years ago when we had access to the Realtek ftp servers. Three updates a week was quite common
