Windows 10: Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

Just tried my MSI Live Update to check drivers(I only use manual scan instead of automatic) and it updated my Realtek to 8059, but this time it went well using the "Total Installer" option instead of just downloading and doing it myself. No uninstall loop.
But one other thing that has always nerved me about Realtek....
You need to go and set up everything again!
It seems they either don't use an .ini file, or delete it during the uninstall portion.
Again a sloppy coding group, great drivers and codecs, but sloppy installers.
When I just update from .cab it keeps all settings but full install (with .exe) uninstalls drivers first so all settings go to driver default instead of keeping old settings. That happens with most other drivers, not only Realtek.

I just opened the RHDSetup file and took a look, they do use INI & DAT files, and even save them, but don't apply them after the update:

Strange, on version 6.0.1.8059 when I uninstall this one it just uninstalled the program, but not the driver. That's a first for me at least, I always uninstall from the control panel and it gets rid of the programs, folders and driver.

It's strange that there's not been a new version released for almost three weeks now. akes a change from the two releases per week we have been getting over the last few months

    Hi,

Since most of these updates didn't make a iota of difference sonically to me, I'm kind of glad. LOL.

May have to do with Asian New Year festivities though.

    Cheers,

    You're welcome, to both.
DooGie, I just saw the 8083 update and used that one. To me it sounds good.
