I just sent the Chromium Edge developers this feedback in the new Edge:
Just like in Edge "Classic" this new Edge isn't letting me select the Realtek Effects(like Music for music videos, or Movie for "other") setting in UAD ROG Sonic Studio III.
Where the Edge selection for the EQ & effects are, say's:
"This application cannot be routed to another device due to it's technical specifications"

This really makes YouTube and other streaming service experience lousy using both Edge's. Problem doesn't exist in Chrome & Chromium, can't you all just let the Chromium part of the browser handle the media parts?

Otherwise I will remain a confirmed Chrome user, and recommend it for online streaming for all Realtek UAD driver users, to my friends, and at Windows 10 Help Forums where I'm one of the senior members.

Got the laptop back from the shop, with a brand new fan and a very quiet one and runs great!...so @Kbird I'll stick around with the HDA drivers

Tried 8678 version of the driver and I definitely saw a loss in the punch to the lows, as Cliff said!!!

    Cliff S said:
Ok 8678 has better mids and highs, but the punch to the bass is missing, it's more a thump

So back to 8648... and until something extraordinary comes up in any of the future releases I believe that, for my laptop, 8648 is the best sounding driver ever!!!

    Oh really...ehem...

How much wood would a Woodchuck chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck wood?

Answer, just in case they ask you this:
A Woodchuck would chuck all the wood a Woodchuck could chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck wood.

I'm not experiencing those kinds of audio differences with 8678 on most of my PCs, maybe cuz my PCs are using older realtek audio chipsets like ALC887 & ALC888

next update for me after 8678 will be somewhere in the 8700s - I mostly update every .25 build

For me 8678 it's the worst update for sound quality since 6.0.1.8668, waiting for new update immediately,

Hello everyone. I just downloaded 8612 before for my MSI Z390 Gaming Plus as it was stated best driver. I see that there are also new updates available. Which one is the best now according to your experiences?

a follow up, it seems 8678 produces softer sounds than previous versions on my Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3-R2 board with Realtek ALC892. I did not noticed any audio differences on my other computers with different Realtek ALC chipsets running 8678.

new generic HDA driver from MUC - v6.0.1.8652 (142.3Mb), contains hdxrt.inf and many other INF files + WOV files
Brink has not updated the drivers on the 1st post and still mentions 8627 as both 8644 HDA and 8652 HDA are now available
