but using either onboard, PCI or USB based audio cards won't matter much if you have a crappy or mediocre PC speaker sound system. I know this from experience folks. I can make any onboard audio system sound better than usual when installing & connecting high quality PC desktop speakers to my computers.

Upgrade your PC speakers or speaker sound system first. then go with either installing a cheap USB audio adapter or PCIe audio card.
I already have some decent monitor heaphones. I was looking to get an audio card to fix my issue with not working microphone with my exiting integrated audio card not to upgrade any sound quality.

cool. I'll update some of my machines that have Realtek audio chips to v8105 when it comes out.

Check out this screen shot on my aunt's Dell Inspiron 580 desktop computer that I upgraded from Win7 to Win10 v1607 almost a week ago. It's using Realtek ALC3220 audio (driver R2.81 v6.0.1.8036) AND using Sound Blaster X-FI MB2 software. I turned the onboard realtek audio into a virtual sound blaster x-fi audio system (oh yeah! )

This sounds crazy and makes me want to have my setup done by someone who knows what they are doing like you.

Those things depend on a particular system, on different MBs, you get different or missing options.

It's about time Microsoft put build 8105 on the MUC. I've been using them for the last 5 days and they're ok. Not a lot of difference in sound from the last few releases but well worth a try.

Same here, but I didn't want to put a download link from other sites.
Maybe they won't and will release another update. Word is Realtek are going to post R2.82 on their website, but for now it's a rumor.

Thanks for the info asturias7, yes I think you're correct not posting links to 3rd party sites but most of us know where to go.
I think Realtek probably will bring out a new version after the official release of Windows RS2.

exactly. crazy but true (I mean, NOT impossible).
The Inspiron 580 has at least Creative THX audio support files installed (which means I can either install the Creative THX Trustudio PC Dell OEM version or the Sound Blaster X-FI MB2 software on there because I have a "supported" audio device)

Here are the Hardware IDs supported by the HDXTHXD.INF file
    Code:
    [AzaliaManufacturerID.NTamd64.6.0]
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_1028040D
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_102802B7
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_10280438
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0662&SUBSYS_10280412
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_10280439
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_1028043B
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_10280458
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_1028043D
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_102802F7
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_102802F8
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0662&SUBSYS_10280473
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_10280482
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0272&SUBSYS_10280477
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0272&SUBSYS_10280478
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0272&SUBSYS_10280479
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_102804AA
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_102804A8
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0272&SUBSYS_102804E5
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0272&SUBSYS_102804E6
    "Realtek Audio" = IntcAzAudModel, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_102804A7
the Realtek hardware device ID that is bold is the one used on the Dell Inspiron 580 desktop computer. The Realtek audio drivers from build 6000 & higher setup the drivers thru the hdxthxd.inf file instead of the normal hdxrt.inf file. get an old Dell XPS 8100/8300 or Inspiron 580 machine that uses Realtek audio chips, check it's hardware ID and try installing the audio driver thru the hdxthxd.inf file.

v8105 may eventually show up on MUC, but not today. Done recent searches for 8105 on the MUC site and came up empty.

It looks like starting from v8057, 8059 & higher [as well as 8105], the Creative mbapo & thx DLL files are gone (oh well, goodbye integrated Creative X-FI MB audio & THX Trustudio audio support). I'll stick to using no greater than either v8051 or v8053 on the Inspiron 580 since those versions still have the Creative APO DLL resource files.

But for my other PCs that use Realtek audio (like my old HP m8417c computer using Realtek ALC888S audio chips), I'll update them to 8105.
