Just installed, sounds very good on my system.
I solved my issue as i said few pages back but...few days ago windows installed some updates during night and when i got back home sound was gone, so i had to reinstall the 2.79 driver again so that it can work again
Most probably the newer driver installed with Windows Update is not fully compatible with your card. Use the show/hide tool to hide the audio driver update and prevent it from installing automatically again. A new driver doesn't necessarily support all models. If the file becomes too large they could deliberately left out some older models to keep the file small. That explains why a newer driver doesn't always work for all audio cards.
Hello, could you detail how yo do this, I do not understand what you mean by "Use the show/hide tool"
I believe he is referring to the tool provided here. Read this, you'll see the download further down:
Yes, exactly. I have seen a couple of old computers that have an onboard Realtek AC'97 (not HD) card and it is a known issue that latest driver causes a BSOD. The only way to make the card work in Windows 10 and avoid installing another card is to force-install some specific drivers (read respective thread). To avoid Windows Update reinstalling the problematic driver and causing a BSOD you must use the Show/Hide tool. As long as you hide a specific update and there is no newer update that replaces it, problem solved! I guarantee it!
ok, understood, thanks for the reply
