I always use the Generic FF00 version of the updates given my system and setup... now I noticed that 8633 has 299 files in its folder, while the latest 86399 has 286 files.
Now I'm wondering two things:
1. If the added files in 8633 are what made everything sound much better and well-balanced and the best so far (at least for me)...
2. If it's worth updating to 8639 since, apparently, those files have been removed...

On 8639 the bass seems to be flatter... less punch, know what I mean.

" less punch "...............do you think its better or worse compared with previous 8633...??

I listen to a lot of deathcore and brutal slam metal, and the bass drops usually kick you in the jewels at the breakdowns, and now they seem somewhat flat.

Understood...
btw, I listen to metal and hard rock (amongst other genres) and I understand what you mean.

Hard rock, metal in many different genres, and Techno, especially The Prodigy and a lot of trance.
I won't stand for subdued bass.
Looks like Skippy build replaced my RealTek drivers, according to device manager, all my RealTek drivers show 18841. Time to install 8633, if 8639 is flat on the low end.
