I went back to 7986, also....smoother.
Do you think 7986 is better than 7989 then? if so i might try it.
I've been trying both for the past few days... 7986 is definitely better sounding.
Btw, another update is about to be released.
It could just be some bug fixes, but it doesn't hurt to have the newest driver installed... Of course there are some exceptions, but the rule is the newer the better.
Yes I've seen build 7997 is availble on at least one site on the web. Trouble is it's not a generic one as it contains Dolby.

I have installed those Dolby ones on devices that dont have Dolby support and it ran fine. Do you have a link for 7997?

Yes I noticed a post that version 188.8.131.5200 was out on another site. I finally couldn't resist and downloaded from Softpedia. It's a good sounding driver, it should be up on the Microsoft Update Catalog within a few days.

I have a Jabra bluetooth speaker (the Solemate Mini). On Windows 8.1 I plug it in to my laptop using the 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable and then, when I watch a movie, it correctly outputs to the speaker and does not use my laptop speakers....
