I tried the 8281 version from Gigabyte's site but I get no sound with it. However, if I install the 8295 realtek drivers on top then it works. BUT the Sound Blaster X 720 software still gives me the device not found error. Frustrating.
Do you have any possibility to test the echo output volume leaking please? If I turn the echo cancellation.. It works only for few minutes.. after that echo is back again.

Tried 2 different headsets with microphone + I tested it also with 8186 from Realtek website (but there is no Realtek HD audio manager.. which is not that bad.. but the mic is not working how it should be)

    EDIT: or anyone else please

Do you have the CD that came with yer mobo? Install that first and then the latest realtek driver. They dont put all the stuff that they should in every driver release. Example, I have the ASUS HEr0 7. Asus has 5 or 6 downloads for realtek drivers on the website for windows 10 64 bit. ONE OF THE 6 DRIVERS has the full package - the others do not and it does not label them as these companies (with holding personal judgements).... do not label them.

TLDR: The realtek driver on MUC and on Realtek will not install any extra supported sound solutions such as sonic studio, creative MB 3 or 5 or 720 degree as those packages are through the horrible motherboard manufactures. You need to find the version of the driver thats on yer CD or possible one of the first 3 downloads that they offer for audio drivers. I know its stupid and the files sizes for the downloads wont help either.

It's a good idea for sure, but it appears the Realtek HD Audio Manager software from the site is a full package regardless of the version you use. I can't get the one from the CD as my case doesn't have an optical drive bay. I've tried both of the versions available on the website though to no avail. The creative software is a separate install.

You probably need to install version [6.0.1.8210] first.

Gigabyte has dropped the ball of latest motherboards featuring ALC 1220. Paying almost 300 euros for motherboard that has audio issues is totally unacceptabIe am hugely disappointed and I wont touch another Gigabyte product ever again!

These issues are on both ASUS and GIGABYTE boards. Its really hit and miss. We really dont have good audio solutions for the pc anymore. Creative dropped the ball and only makes 20$ sounds cards that they charge 150$ for with drivers so bad that they make you want to cry.

Is MSI any better? Is there any motherboard manufacture left that we can trust?

Thing is, ASRock X370 board was my first choice. It features same Realtek chips (ALC 1220) and there are virtualy zero reports about front audio issues. I saddens me greatly cause my previous experience with Gigabyte mobos were more than satisfactory..

    Hi,

To install a cab file, you need to unpack it with something like 7zip.
No need for any external app. Just right click it and choose open. Select all files, CTRL+A, right click again and choose "Extract".

    Cheers,
