    How do the v6.0.1.8295 sound?
Not bad at all, strong deep bass and reasonably detailed top end. However the top end isn't as good as build 8279.

For the guys who want to add the Realtek HD Audio Manager to the Control Panel, I wrote a REG file that adds it no matter what driver you have installed.

    I thought I'd share this.
Well I just updated to R282 and this didn't work for me. It put the shortcut in the Control panel but when clicked on nothing happened. Same thing happens if you go directly to the file "RAVCpl64.exe" and 2x click it. Dang I miss that manager...

My ears are doing OK then :) Yes build 8295 was rough around the edges at higher frequencies. I'm back with build 8279 now, did a clean install rather than rolling back.

Hey DooGie, I'm also still using 8279 which (for me) sounds the best so far.
    Now 6.0.1.8281 was just released:
    Microsoft Update Catalog

Maybe you could give it a try and let me know if it's worth updating?

Well I'm not sure. I downloaded what was R2.82 from Realtek, which is a confusing place. I took the download of R2.82 which was the largest .zip file. I THINK I had R2.79 V6.0.1.8186 but I also think the FCU may have changed the drivers?

Anyway..here's a screenshot of what I DID install for what good it will do...

Are you guys just installing drivers only? Are they coming from MS Update Center?

I've noticed I get a totally different appearance of the HD Audio Manager on my Toshiba P855 laptop from what's on my Gigabyte motherboard PCs using the same software. Never did understand that. I've just supposed that the manufacturer must have something to do with it.

Yes, it's different looking on different MBs and systems but works same way. You may not get Realtek HD Audio in Control center with that driver.
